How we handle your files, and your information
This page describes our data-handling practices in plain language. It is not a substitute for a signed project agreement, which will set out project-specific terms.
Access to your files
We do not claim that files are never viewed under any circumstances. During a project, access is limited to what is reasonably necessary for intake, verification, organization, troubleshooting, and delivery. Staff do not browse customer files outside of that work.
Preservation during processing
Original files are preserved during normal processing. Copies are made before any organizing work begins, so the source material is not altered as part of routine service.
Duplicate identification is not deletion
When we identify likely duplicate files, that is a step to help you review your collection — it does not mean those files are automatically deleted. Removal of any file is something you decide, not something that happens silently as part of processing.
Separation between customer archives
Each customer's archive is kept separate from unrelated projects. Files from one family's project are not mixed into another's.
Physically damaged media
We are not a data-recovery lab. If a device is physically damaged — for example, a drive that won't spin up, or visibly damaged media — we will generally refer you to a specialist data-recovery service rather than attempt repair ourselves. We do not guarantee any recovery result, from us or from a referral.
Keep your source devices
We recommend that you retain your original devices and media until you have reviewed and accepted final delivery of your archive. Once delivery is accepted, how long you keep your originals afterward is your decision.
Optional retained backup
By default, we do not keep a copy of your archive after delivery. If you would like us to retain a backup on your behalf, that is an optional service requiring a separate agreement and its own pricing — it is never assumed or applied automatically.
What we do not do with your files
- Files are not used for advertising.
- Files are not used to train AI models.
- Files are not used for any purpose unrelated to your project.
- Files are not shared with third parties except a specialist referral you agree to, or as required by law.
This website
The online archive-estimate form is not yet active; submitting it does not send any information anywhere (see the Contactpage for details). This site does not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics. Standard web server logs (such as request timestamps and IP addresses) may be retained briefly for security and operational purposes, consistent with typical web hosting practice.
Questions
If you have questions about how a specific project would handle your files, ask before you commit to anything — that conversation is part of the free initial estimate.
